Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Juniper Networks.
Intern
The interview process was a bit of a mix, with some candidates doing everything online, some in person, and others a combination. There were 4 rounds in total: 2 technical rounds, a managerial round, and an HR round. Before all this, there was an online assessment that was just multiple-choice questions.
- Could you define Data Structure, list a few types, and explain Stack and Queue?
- Given a GCD problem and a Missing Number problem, how would you solve them?
- Can you tell me the difference between TCP and UDP?
Intern
My interview was pretty good, not too hard but not too easy. It had three stages. They really focused on computer networks, which was a big part of the talks. The rounds covered different things, and the questions were okay, not super tough, but you needed to know your stuff. Lots of coding questions, pretty basic ones. It was a good chance to show I can code and solve problems. All in all, it was a mix of normal questions and technical stuff. Not too difficult, but you had to know computer networks and coding. It was a good way to show what I know.
- Tell me about computer networks.
- What do you know about databases?
- Can you explain algorithms?
Intern
It was a good and comforting interview experience. They asked a lot of questions about networking models, TCP, and UDP protocols. There were also some questions based on my resume, and others about OS optimizations and techniques. The questions covered various engineering areas, including ML and DS. I also got some system design questions which were fun to solve. The interviewer was an interesting and friendly person. I was selected for the next round but couldn't attend because I had already accepted an offer from another company.
- Could you explain the TCP handshake mechanism?
- Can you describe the process of packet transfer from client to server across all layers?
- Please tell me about FTP.
