Software Engineer
It was a pretty good experience overall. I talked a lot with the team lead, who was super helpful and explained their development process and vision, and answered all my questions patiently. There were 3 rounds. The first was a 45-minute screening. The second involved building an application using a framework I know, with a detailed requirements doc that needed to be submitted in 3-4 days. The third was a 1-1.5 hour technical and managerial chat with the Engineering lead, QA lead, and Team lead, covering my tech skills, projects, and leadership experience, and also discussing the app I built for round 2.

Content Operations and Management Coordinator
I applied for two entry-level roles, Content Operations Coordinator and Content Management Coordinator, through Jukin's career page multiple times since January but never heard back. I then reached out to Jukin employees on LinkedIn to get my resume to an internal recruiter. The recruiter set up a phone interview and then I had a phone interview with the Technical Project Management & Business Operations Director, which went well. After that, I was invited for an in-person interview at Jukin Media Headquarters in Culver City. During this interview, the director asked me questions for a team lead position, stating my background qualified me for it. I answered based on my experience, and the interview lasted over an hour. The director seemed pleased and told the recruiter I was a good fit and they wanted to move me to the next steps. This was at the end of June, just before the July 4th long weekend. Since then, I've followed up multiple times via email and phone. The recruiter responded with updates like 'still vetting candidates,' 'hoping to make decisions soon,' and 'still in the process.' After mid-August, the recruiter and director stopped responding. I didn't get the role and wanted feedback, especially after three rounds and being told I was a great fit. I was even willing to take the entry-level role I initially applied for. In mid-September, I reconnected with the recruiter who didn't offer feedback on my interviews or the hiring decision, though I noticed on LinkedIn they hired a former employee. The recruiter asked if I was still interested in the entry-level role and said he'd set up a call with a Senior Content Manager. We scheduled the call, but two hours prior, the recruiter emailed saying something urgent came up and the senior content manager couldn't make it. I've tried rescheduling multiple times since then, but the director, recruiter, and senior content manager are not replying to my emails or calls. I should have given up but it was frustrating to go through the whole process and then be ghosted multiple times. Even a standard 'not a good fit' email would have been better than this unprofessional experience.
- Can you tell us about your background and why you think you'd be a good fit for the company?
Software Development Engineer in Test
The interview process had 3 rounds in total. The first round was a 30-minute call with the QA lead to get a better understanding of the job description. Then, I received an assignment with no strict deadline, which I submitted within 4 days. The task involved writing test cases for the login flow and identifying bugs in the web application. What I really liked about Jukin Media was that unlike other assignments, you get really good review comments and learn a lot from the assignment itself. Plus, you get extra credit for the bugs you find in the application. The third round was a 1-hour Zoom call for the final discussion. Questions were based on the assignment, and also included various manual and scenario-based questions. All in all, the process was quite smooth and quick.
- How can we make the framework fail fast?
- What are the reasons for choosing this framework, and can it handle scaling?
- Can you provide a manual test case related to a lift?
Content Management Coordinator
I met with the director of business operations at Jukin's offices. It was a pretty typical interview where we talked about my previous work, education, and my reasons for wanting to join the company. The whole thing took about 30 minutes, with the last 10 minutes set aside for my questions. The interviewer was really nice and seemed genuinely interested in what I could bring to the company. Overall, it was a good experience, and I have nothing but positive things to say about the director.
- What makes you want to work for Jukin Media?
- Can you share an instance where you had a conflict with a colleague and explain how you managed to resolve it?
