Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at JTI - Japan Tobacco International.
Finance Associate
The interview process was really quick and organized, with clear steps and smooth transitions. Things moved along fast, but sometimes it felt a bit rushed because they focused on speed.
- What are your motivations?
- Let's talk about a business case.
Financial Analyst
The first round was with the HR team and it was quite comfortable and friendly. The second round was similar to the first but with the actual team workers, and it was much more tense and detailed. I didn't get an offer but it was a good experience.
- Can you tell me about your work experience?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- How do you go about managing your time?
Finance Analyst
The hiring manager interview was pretty chill, super positive vibes and felt really engaging and constructive. The manager seemed genuinely interested in what I've done and was cool with talking about the role and what they're looking for. Instead of the usual behavioral stuff, it was all about my past work and how it fits the job, especially with financial analysis, tracking costs, and working with other teams. It was like a two-way chat, where I got a good sense of the job and could also show how my skills could help the team out.
- Can you walk me through an exercise related to cost analysis?
