First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Journelle.
Manager
The interview was about 2.5 hours long and I met some really good people from staffing. They were all professional and nice. I thought the questions were relevant to the job and my experience. It was definitely one of the tougher interviews I've had.
- Can you walk me through how you'd create a new training manual for three distinct roles, each with unique responsibilities?
Sales Associate
I went in for an in-person interview with the store manager. She was rude and condescending, criticized my answers, and so on. I was still called back for a second interview with the head of retail at their corporate office. She was also rude and condescending and only spoke to me for a few minutes before ending the interview. They never followed up, even though I spent time going to two in-person interviews for a retail job. Ultimately, I think they wanted someone more committed long-term to the role, but for a minimum wage part-time job without commission, and with the demands they apparently put on their employees, that seems unrealistic.
- How did you hear about Journelle?
Customer Service Representative
Applied online and got a phone interview, then had a face-to-face interview. The face-to-face was with different people. After that, they said they'd get back to me either way. Never heard back.... very "professional" don't say things you don't mean just for the sake of it....
- Can you tell me about your previous work experience?
Associate Product Manager
I had a virtual interview with two interviewers. It was pretty straightforward, and they gave me feedback when I asked for it. I really appreciated learning how I could improve my interviewing skills for the future.
- What areas for improvement do you notice?
