Digital Media Director
I interviewed for a digital media director role and they were super communicative, everything was moving fast as each week I had an interview with someone new. I was told it was going to be a 4 step interview process. I was excited about the role as I loved everyone I met and the position and was told twice that I was a perfect fit. For the last step, I was to meet with Josie Maran herself which I was super excited about. I met with her and it was a super uncomfortable interview. it started with technical issues and then her computer died at the beginning of the interview which she later hopped on her phone. It only got more uncomfortable after that. She continued pointing out how tan I was—I'm Latina and I'm naturally tan year round as that's my natural completion. She probably mentioned how tan I was 5 times throughout the interview. She then proceeded to ask what my ethnicity was which made me even more uncomfortable as I felt that had nothing to do with how my experience fits this specific role. She barely asked me any technical questions and I mostly carried the interview by asking her questions. Even with that experience I still send out a thank you note to her as I loved everyone else I interviewed with. As the final step, I imagined I would hear feedback soon. A week passed by and I never heard anything back. I followed up with the recruiter twice and I was completely ghosted by them.

Project Manager
So I applied for the PM role and got a Linked In message asking if I was still interested, but it was for a different role. A bit later I got another message for the PM role, which I said yes to both. Then an email came asking if I was free for an online interview later that day, no time, no details. I was on vacation but took it anyway and suggested a time. I thought it was a phone call but it was video, which was fine but unexpected. The interviewer was complaining about being busy and tired and hadn't read my resume, asked me to send it during the call. I found out it was for the PM role and she would be my manager.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- Do you have any questions for me?
Social Media Coordinator
I applied online. A team member contacted me for a phone interview, which I got through. Then I was given a 6-question assignment about their social media. After sending it in, I scheduled an in-person with the manager I spoke to earlier. The interview was supposed to be 30 minutes, but it ran for an hour. I sent a thank you email afterward. I haven't heard back yet, even after emailing the three people I was in touch with.
- Can we discuss your project document?
- Tell me about your strengths and weaknesses.
- Could you elaborate on your experience?
Communications Specialist
The interviewer started by asking me about myself, and then moved on to my technical skills, like my experience with CreatorIQ and Canva. They also asked about marketing tactics I've noticed and found effective.
- How do you stay informed about current events and emerging trends?
