First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Jon-Don.
Content Writer
I started with a quick phone chat with Diane, the Staffing Specialist from HR. It went well, and we talked about my work history and the job. Then, Diane set up a second phone chat for the next week with the Hiring Manager, Alexandra. I felt this second interview went great, too. Alexandra asked good questions and answered mine well. It felt more like a natural conversation than a formal interview, which I think is the best way to see if it's a good fit. After that, I came in for an in-person interview with Alexandra and the Marketing Director, Treg. I did a short writing test to show my skills. I thought this interview also went well and felt natural. Even though I didn't get an offer, Alexandra called to let me know they were impressed but went with someone else, and it was a tough choice. She even suggested I look out for future writing roles at Jon-Don. Overall, despite not getting the offer, it was a good interview experience and showed me Jon-Don handles things professionally and respectfully, even with candidates they don't end up hiring.
- How would your coworkers describe you using three adjectives?
- Tell me about your experience writing for different audiences. What's your approach to a project, and how do you identify your target audience?
- Can you describe your process for tackling a writing assignment or project from start to finish?
Sales Manager
The interview process included a phone interview followed by four interviews at Corporate. There were also two initial tests: a Sales Test and a Personality test. Overall, it was a pretty standard interview process with typical questions.

Inside Sales
It was a bunch of phone calls, the people were really nice. The whole thing took about 2 weeks. They give you this odd, random test where you have to get as many answers right as you can in a short amount of time. Overall, it was a good experience.
- Were there any generic questions?
- Did they give you a weird random test to answer as many right as possible in a few minutes?
Account Manager
The interview process was pretty straightforward and thorough. It wasn't a tough process, and while I thought it was a great process, I didn't think I was the best fit for what they were looking for.
- Can you describe your experience level?
- Can you discuss your past jobs?
- What motivates you?
