First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Johnsonville.
Project Manager
So after the initial HR screen, I had interviews with three different people from the company. This also included a presentation, alongside the usual interview stuff. All in all, it felt pretty typical.
- Can you describe a tough situation you faced at work and how you handled it?
Intern
I had a phone interview, which then led to an in-person meeting. When I got to the building, we took a tour. After that, I sat down for a panel interview with three people who currently work there. It was a straightforward question-and-answer session, and everyone was really friendly.
- Can you describe how you manage chaotic situations?
Manufacturing Technician
It took me about 2 months to get hired at Johnsonville. They first interviewed me for a maintenance position but I didn't get it. Then they offered me other jobs, but I couldn't do them physically for long. So I told them what I wanted to do, we agreed on a position, and I applied. They rejected my application and I haven't heard back since. Even though Johnsonville employees complained about labor shortages, they didn't help me much even though I told them I wanted to work there and was overqualified for the entry-level physical jobs they seemed to only want to hire for.
- When can you start working?
Project and Change Manager
Applied for a Project and Change Manager role, though they later labeled it 'Entry Level'. The first step was a 30-minute phone chat with a recruiter for screening. After that, I had a 2.5-hour on-site interview which involved a presentation task and two separate hour-long meetings with the hiring folks. Even though I felt it went great, I didn't get an offer and they didn't give me any feedback when I asked. The whole thing took about 5 weeks from applying to being turned down.
