Relationship Banker
It was thorough and really detailed. They seemed interested in my family and values, asking lots of questions about behaviors and habits. It's important to have examples and stories ready to back up your past work decisions.
- Can you describe a situation where your intended outcome wasn't achieved, and what steps you took afterward to address it?
Vault Specialist
This company is known for taking a while to get back to you. Once they do start the interview process, which includes a phone interview and then a series of one-on-one meetings with the direct supervisor, branch manager, regional VP, their boss, and finally HR, it can take over a month. They are super thorough, maybe too much so, especially for a job that doesn't pay a salary and where they might try to offer you less than you're worth (I was offered $14/hr, which is low for the amount of work and responsibility). Basically, they'll ask you to give examples for different hypothetical situations, covering customer service, dealing with coworkers, and ethical dilemmas.
- Have many different stories ready, for example, about dealing with a difficult coworker that led to a confrontation and how you fixed it, or about a tough problem you faced and how you handled it.
Universal Banker
The interview process here, from what I've experienced, is pretty new to me and I haven't moved on yet. They say it usually takes about 3-4 weeks. When you apply, the first thing is this electronic interview you have to do within 5 days. You can either record yourself on video with a webcam or phone, or do a phone interview. I did the phone one, but it seems like it might be the same as the video option, just without the video. The phone interview takes about 30-40 minutes, but it's not with a real person. A computer tells you when to talk, and the questions are pre-recorded. It felt like a voice-activated chat. The computer asks a question, you get a moment to think, then you record your answer after a beep. Then it moves to the next question. It's hard to tell if you're doing well or if they understood you because there's no human feedback. You're just recording answers for someone to review later. It's probably to get a basic feel for the job, but it's definitely weird answering questions to a machine.
- Describe a time you had too many tasks and not enough time to finish them. What was the situation, how did you decide what to do first and what to postpone, and what did you do next?
Commercial Account Manager
pretty straight forward except that their was a phone interview, numerous in-person interviews talking about the same stuff, then another phone interview, and finally an offer. The whole process took approximately 5 weeks from initial phone interview to extending an offer. Biggest thing to me was that the process was quite an inconvenience at the time given we only talked about the same stuff.
- Do you understand Johnson Insurance's dynamic structure and its market impact and targets?
