Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Johnson Controls.
Project Manager
The interview felt easy, but you need to be prepared for any role, even if you applied for a different one. They might ask about anything. But overall, the experience was good.
- Can you explain Ajax?
- Could you tell me about your previous internship experience?
Project Manager
The initial interview screening with Janis was great, she gave me all the info I needed, but some stuff was confidential. Then I had an in-person interview with the hiring manager. It felt more like an interrogation, very condescending and unprofessional. The questions weren't even relevant to the job, and by the end, the hiring manager didn't even know what position I applied for. It seemed like a formality, no real chance of getting the job. The management was unprofessional, and I think the company needs to fix their toxic culture so they don't miss good hires.
- What do you know about this role you applied for?
- Is your experience sufficient for this role?
Project Manager
Started with HR contact, then an interview with HR. Next, I interviewed with my direct manager. The final interview was with both my manager and the general manager. After that, if things went well, HR sent the offer.
- Can you share your experience?
- How do you approach challenges?
- What are your key strengths and skills?
