First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at John Morrell.
Planner
I started with a phone chat with HR. Then I went in for an in-person interview with three people: the Hiring Manager, someone on their team, and the Director. Each chat was about 30 minutes long. They were on time and I wasn't kept waiting. HR let me know how it went about a week later.
- What's your experience in the food industry like?
Production Supervisor
I had a phone interview, and then within a week, I had a face-to-face meeting with the HR Director and the hiring manager. They were very quick to follow up with me. The onboarding process was excellent; they made me feel very welcome.
- Can you describe your leadership style?
Human Resources Coordinator
The interview process was pretty standard, nothing particularly new or original. The interviewers' skills were basic, and honestly, mostly outdated. Most of the questions didn't really relate to the job itself. Involving so many people made some of them seem like they thought they were really important.
- As a piece of office equipment, which one would you choose to be?
Sales Representative
I applied online and got a referral from a company employee. HR reached out via email to schedule a phone screen and an in-person interview with the hiring manager. The HR email was quick and helpful. The phone screen was about 20 minutes, covering my experience and how it fits the role, plus a detailed look at the job duties. Then, I had my face-to-face interview. I arrived a bit early, so we started right away. They asked about my past work and why I was interested in this company. I also got more information about the job, the clients, and team support. It was a really friendly and professional chat.
