The interview process was quick, efficient, and very friendly. It was conducted remotely over the phone and consisted of three rounds maximum. The people I spoke with were easy to talk to. It was nice that no assessment was required. It felt like a typical interview process.

It was a pretty standard process. First, I spoke with an internal recruiter. Then, I had a follow-up meeting with some of the executive team. They wanted the interviews to be in-person at their location in Groton, CT. The recruiter actually gave me a lot of info on the phone, almost trying to discourage me from pursuing it, and she was the only one who seemed engaged during the in-person meetings. I still don't get why they wanted me to drive to Groton, the building is old and the office was just bare white walls with grey carpet, not very inspiring. The whole experience felt like a waste because it was clear they weren't serious about growing the company, more like small-town guys wanting to stay relevant without making any real changes. They're probably just hoping to get bought out.

I don't recall the exact number of rounds, but I estimate it was around 4. The first round was with HR and focused on behavioral questions. Then, I had a second round where I met a software engineer who would be my colleague and boss - they were awesome! In the third round, I met with another software engineer and a software engineering manager, who were amazing, super knowledgeable, and helpful. The fourth round involved meeting with a software engineer and software engineering manager again to discuss more technical details.

It was a good interview process with only 1 round. They asked basic ML questions, and questions about the Bias Variance trade-off. They also asked resume-based questions and for explanations of resume-based projects. Questions included how to calculate accuracy in Multiclass classification and how to deal with imbalanced datasets.
