Product Manager
Got referred by someone I know. Attended a cool event at their office and got a tour. Had the usual recruiter screen and then a chill chat with the hiring manager. The HM seemed to think I'd do well for the panel interview stage. But then, poof, nothing from anyone. They did mention some internal decisions might slow things down, which is understandable. I reached out a week after talking to the HM to ask about when I might hear back, but no reply from the recruiter or HM. Called the recruiter again a week later, still no response. Now they've reposted the job on LinkedIn. Never got a rejection email or anything.
- Can you describe your experience working with various platforms, including web, iOS, and Android?
Account Manager
I had a phone interview with the Senior CSM, and then they invited me in for another interview. This time, I spoke with the same Senior CSM and the Head of Marketing. The interviews themselves were fine and pleasant. However, they kept saying I'd hear back from the recruiter, but I never did. I tried contacting both the recruiter and the Senior CSM multiple times about my application, but got no response. Two days later, they had already hired someone else. I didn't even get an automated rejection email saying the role was filled. They claim to be transparent and honest, but their actions showed otherwise.
- Can you tell me about the number of clients you've managed?
Software Engineer
The recruiting manager was amazing, and the HR rep that gave me the pretour was super nice. The two software engineers I interviewed with were quite different. I was told "nothing about your knowledge is impressive", "your breadth of knowledge is shallow", and "you're not what we're looking for" and then I was walked out. I never had a chance to demonstrate code. The interview consisted of "guess what I'm thinking" on a variety of questions, sometimes very obscure, regarding languages they have experience with. I then had to do oral whiteboarding. I was forced to speak code like a verbal language to someone who would enter it into an console. They would give me attitude when they misheard or didn't enter it correctly. Then I was asked incredibly impractical coding questions (the sorts of things you'd never use on the job) and never got to use any real world tools, actually write code for them, or have a chance to talk about or demonstrate the skills I did have. It was clear they were looking for an expert that fit a very tight set of requirements exactly on their level, and nothing less and nothing adjacent. It felt like they were showboating then kicked me out. I was cordial from beginning to end and have never felt more disrespected and more trampled than by this interview. It was more of a highly specific interrogation that was entirely unrelated to real workplace relevancy, and then they were unfair in their feedback. I'm okay not being a good fit, I knew I wasn't fairly early in the interview, but their disrespect was uncalled for. They need to do some serious research on good interview techniques, make it relevant and practical, and ditch the oral whiteboarding. Let your candidates show you what they can do in a real world environment!
- Can you describe how and why you utilize older or newer features of C# or .NET?

Technical Support Specialist
The interview process was well structured and clearly communicated, and it went fairly quickly. There was a phone interview, then a 1st in-person interview with the two managers of the team I applied to join, and the final interview was with the department director. During the first interview, I received a really warm welcome and I was taken on a tour of the building. They were very transparent about current struggles, future goals, their values and culture, and went above and beyond to answer my questions and negotiate my offer letter terms. They really value people who are energetic and have done their research on the company and their software.
