We had an online virtual assessment with 2 different sections. The first was a presentation and straight after that, an interview. JLR uses an external company to assess you and provides a Teams call to get your questions answered from interns and graduates. It was mainly motivational, not a technical interview, with questions on company values, integrity, unity, and customer love.

The interview involved preparing a presentation that requires a detailed description of how you organised and conducted a project, using both in-house resources and outsourcing certain aspects. The presentation is about 15 minutes long, followed by a Q&A. Then there were detailed technical questions, including answering within certain scenarios with post-processed results like stress contour and force curves. Lastly, there were behaviour-related questions based on the company values.

The interview process was good but quite lengthy with numerous questions. Some of the questions were tricky, and at times, it felt exhausting. It would have been better to shorten the interview duration to under an hour. Also, for the second interview round, if they decided to move someone forward, it would be beneficial to ask some of the questions that were asked previously.

The interview process was pretty standard. It involved reviewing my CV, giving a presentation, and then asking some competency-based questions. Everything was conducted over Teams, and it felt quite relaxed, which actually helped me do better and get a good sense of who the interviewers were. Interestingly, one of them turned out to be my manager for the first seven months, and they were genuinely one of the best managers I've ever worked with.
