First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at JLA.
Commercial Finance Analyst
Applied for the job through indeed and got an interview offer within a week. During the interview, they said I'd hear back by the end of the week on whether I was successful. It's been two weeks and I haven't heard back. I guess I wasn't successful, but it would've been nice to know instead of being left in the dark.
- Can you tell us a bit more about yourself?
Solution Architect
A recruiter from a third party reached out saying I was a good fit. I had a good initial phone screen with them, and they sent the job description. I thought it was a great role, so after some chasing, I applied and sent my CV. The first step was a one-way video interview where I answered some questions without being able to interact. I had to re-record it at their request, but they liked it and sent it to JLA's CTO, Rob. After I followed up past the deadline they gave me, Rob said my experience at big companies doing similar roles wasn't 'credible enough' and they wanted someone with a software development background and a degree. I feel like I dodged a bullet if a CTO thinks that based only on a one-way video. As a hiring manager, I prefer a personal chat after reviewing a CV. I saw they tried to fill this role four months ago, and it's still advertised everywhere. I'd tell good candidates not to waste time researching and prepping for this, as the requirements seem to shift.

Administrative Assistant
Had a first chat with HR, they asked about my work and school background, what I'm good at and not so good at. Then, a second interview with the accounting manager. Finally, had a psychometric test and a blood test.
- Tell me about your experience and education.
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Project Manager
It was a two-stage interview process. First, I spoke with the head of the department where we talked about similar experiences to what was needed for the role and questions to gauge my project management skills. Then, I had another interview with the CTO to go over the business, what they expect, and how success would be measured for this position.
- Can you share your experience in managing IT projects?
- Describe your experience with projects similar to this one.
- How would you describe your project management abilities?
