First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at JK Design.
Director of Strategy
Interviews with JK are great - the people are smart, kind, and ask really good questions. You get the sense that work-life balance really matters and they really care about each other and the work they do. Cool place.
- What breadth of experience would you bring to the agency?
Account Director
This was the worst interview experience I've ever had. The owner was late, and they didn't even have copies of my resume. Since I have a very high-level background, they were just trying to get basic facts. The interview was only about 15-20 minutes. The questions were pretty basic, and the three senior people in the room didn't know how to make a candidate feel comfortable. It's surprising given I have a VP title and over 20 years of experience on my resume. Seriously? They asked if I'd ever worked with a team... ridiculous.
- Could you share an instance where you worked collaboratively within a team?
Digital Marketing Specialist
We started with a phone screen and then I went in for an in person interview. It was very hands on, they asked what I would do in certain situations and gauged my thinking and mindset. Overall, it was a positive experience.
- Can you share your experience?
Graphic Designer
The interview process was well organized and they were very clear about the opportunity and the requirements. It felt like a place with a good culture where you can go as far as your talent.
- What motivates the decisions you make in your work?
