First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at JK Consultants.
Consulting Analyst
The interview process was really tough, involving lots of questions on analytics, my main responsibilities, and assessing my confidence and communication skills. They also dug into my CV, making it a really intense interview.
- Did they ask about analytics?
- Were there questions regarding your core function?
- Did they check your confidence?
Administrative Director
So for this role, first, you'll have a quick chat with the JKC President to make sure you're a good fit, they'll check your availability and if you're interested. Then, there's a video call with him again, where he'll want to see your sourcing skills, what you've done before, and how you'd fit in with the team and company vibe. After that, you'll get a sourcing challenge or assignment to show off how you find passive candidates using different methods and tools. Finally, another chat with the president to go over what you're looking for, your career goals, and what you can bring to the company.
- What are some of the sourcing methods and tools that you use to find passive candidates?
- How do you measure the effectiveness of your sourcing strategies and activities?
- How do you approach and engage with passive candidates to generate interest in our opportunities?
Recruiter
The CEO of this company reached out to me directly for an interview. During the interview, I felt extremely disrespected and my career as a recruiter was belittled with comments comparing my role to a Denny's worker versus a high-end restaurant employee. I was confident going into the interview but left feeling put down. The CEO questioned if recruiting was something I truly wanted to do, despite me being a top performer and dedicated recruiter. I was offended by the disrespect and belittling comments, especially as I am sure of my career path and seeking growth. After the conversation, he sent me a link to research the company and suggested another conversation after I did that research. I had been working all day and didn't have time to research, and hoped to ask questions, but he kept interrupting me. I learned little about the company beyond the fact that their recruiters supposedly make $200k-$300k a year, compared to my $45k. Regardless of the potential salary, I was completely put off by his treatment of people, and I don't care about the money if that's how they treat their employees.
- What was your W2 income last year?
Director of Recruitment
Fred (the CEO) called me to interview while he was driving in his car. I got the sense that he was not really listening to my answers to his questions. After 30 minutes, we hung up and he called me again a couple days later explaining that he was frantic the day he spoke with me and didn't really catch my responses. He therefore, wanted to schedule another interview. We spoke again for 30-45 minutes and I never heard back from Fred again. 8 months later, guess who messages me on LinkedIn again asking if I'd be interested in a Senior Sourcing/Recruitment Leader for JK Consultants. I was already extremely hesitant about this company and CEO due to the previous Glassdoor reviews; my experience 100% confirmed that this would never be a company I would want to work for
- What is your current salary?
