I applied for a full-time role and went through a personality test, 4 interview rounds, and a work sample. This took about 6-8 weeks. There were long periods with no communication, and they even reduced the deadline for my work sample from 5 business days to 2 days, which felt urgent. Talking to former employees didn't help much as they also had negative experiences and left within a couple of years. I decided to finish the process because I had already invested so much time. The final interview was with the CEO, which was a bit strange for a mid-level job. They offered me the full-time role I applied for, or a contract position. The contract pay was half the full-time salary, and there was no guarantee of hours, so I accepted the full-time offer. Then they said they didn't have any openings and tried to push the contract role again. I was shocked by this bait-and-switch tactic after such a long interview process.

The interview was virtual, and the questions weren't that difficult. It was a pretty standard process, and the manager I spoke with was professional and gave me good information. They said I would be moving on to a group interview and asked me to send back dates and times I was available. I did that, but then got ghosted. I sent follow-up emails to the two managers I had been in contact with, but never got any responses back. I'm really disappointed that I wasn't at least told what was happening or at least given a minimal response.

This interview process felt kind of different at first, which was interesting. But then after the second exercise, I asked about the contracting rate a few times and they never gave me an answer. They also told me I'd have to get my own computer hardware and publishing software to work for them, so I decided to stop the process.

After completing an aptitude test, I had a two-on-one interview which was planned, personal, friendly and comfortable. A recruiter was helpful in getting me to the right place at the right time. The screening process, including the strengths test, was interesting. It was an easy interview, making it comfortable and easy to speak candidly.
