Supply Chain Manager
The interview process was well organized. It started with a phone screen by HR, followed by another call with the hiring manager. After about a 3-month gap, I proceeded to two more interview rounds onsite. The first onsite round went really well, with interviews from three people (one in person, two via Zoom), which were enjoyable and insightful conversations about the company. The next round involved interviews with two more individuals: a peer and the hiring manager. The peer interview went great, with good insights exchanged. However, the final interview with the hiring manager was a terrible experience. He was unprofessional, didn't listen, used profanity, belittled my current job performance, and questioned my past ratings and GPA from 17 years ago. He also asked me to name contacts at Walmart HQ for verification and didn't appreciate me turning questions back to him. This experience was so negative that I withdrew my application.
- Regarding your reports, why do you bother creating them if no one cares?
- You've received 'meets expectations' for three years, why haven't you achieved better?
- What is your GPA?
Supply Chain Manager
I got an email to book an HR round, but after booking, I didn't hear back. I kept rescheduling and trying to reach out to the recruiter with no luck. Just as I was about to give up, I finally got an interview email about a month later. The HR round was pretty standard. Next, I had to complete a cognitive ability game on my phone. It was manageable. Then, I spoke with a team member who asked me about supply chain stuff and then threw in some basic case questions. The questions weren't hard, but I made some simple errors because I wasn't prepped for them.
- Regarding inventory challenges, what would be your proposed solutions?
- Considering your background in field operations, how do you see yourself fitting into this position?
Supply Chain Manager
I got a message from a Jet recruiter on LinkedIn, and we scheduled a call a few days later. This call was behavioral, asking about why I'm interested in Jet and why I'm looking to switch jobs. After that, I had to complete a game-based assessment. The next step was a phone interview with a supply chain manager, which involved a case problem relevant to the role. The final stage was an on-site interview, consisting of three 30-minute interviews with JetHeads from the supply chain team. Each of these interviews included a case study and some 'tell me about a time when...' questions.
- Can you share an instance where you were responsible for managing a process?
