It was a three-stage process. The second round was in person and I met with four different people. One focused on culture fit, another on my experience, and two involved technical case studies. It was a lot, but the company culture, location, and values made it all worthwhile.

I applied through LinkedIn for the role located in Hoboken, NJ. The interview process consisted of an initial HR screen, interviews with the hiring manager, and finally, in-person interviews. The HR screen was pretty standard, mainly checking for cultural fit. The hiring manager interviews were more detailed, covering both interpersonal and technical aspects. My hiring manager wanted to be sure they made the right hire, so they requested an extra interview, though this might not be the usual process. Even though the in-person interviews weren't overly difficult, they asked some interesting questions that made me more enthusiastic about joining. The whole process moved quickly and I received timely feedback.

After I sent in my resume, I had to go through a few things. First, I had an interview on campus with three people. Then, I took a math test. After that, I went for an on-site interview with three different people. Lastly, there was one more phone interview. It took about a month after my first interview for anything to happen, and I thought I didn't get it because I heard nothing. Then, they called me for an on-site interview at their Hoboken office. Three weeks later, HR contacted me about making an offer. I waited two more weeks, but then I had to withdraw because I had another offer and couldn't wait any longer. It was a bummer because I really liked the company culture and the problems they were working on seemed interesting. I felt like I could do really fulfilling work there, but the timing just wasn't right.
