& Process

First, there's an HR screening. If that goes well, you'll have a second in-person interview with your hiring manager and their boss.

I sent my resume over and right away I got an email with demographic questions like gender and race. A few days later, a really nice woman called me to ask about my past jobs, basically confirming and getting a bit more detail from my resume. We then scheduled an interview for a few days out and she gave me clear directions on where to go and what to do. When I arrived for the interview, I let them know I was there and was seated in the reception area. I didn't have to wait long before being brought into a room where the woman I spoke with on the phone and another woman were waiting. They were both really friendly during the interview, which lasted about twenty minutes. The office seemed small but nice.

First I had a phone interview with the HR woman. Then, there was an in-person interview. If I passed that, I would have gotten the 'big' interview with the department manager, who is apparently part of the Jelly Belly owner family. It was a pretty chill interview where I mostly discussed my portfolio and hypothetical scenarios. They really focused on how I'd deal with rejection, critiques, and talking to the owners. The art lead seemed super nice and knowledgeable, I would've liked to work with her, but I just didn't get a good vibe from the rest of the team or the young HR lady.

First, I talked to a recruiter, then had a chat with HR. After that, my potential boss and a coworker interviewed me, followed by a panel with like 10 people. Since no one on the panel was really qualified to judge my skills, the interviews were pretty easy. They were mostly checking if I'd fit in. Lastly, I did an online skills test. It's tough to find tech folks in Fairfield, so if you're decent, you've got a good shot at an offer.
