Associate Media Director
The interview process varies based on the specific team, as this is a consulting agency. JeffreyM asks basic questions to check if you are a good fit for the role and if your salary expectations are in line.
- Can you share your previous work experience and explain how it relates to this position?
Manager
The interview process I went through was pretty organized and covered a lot. There were several parts to it that really checked out my skills and if I was a good fit. Overall, it was a good and helpful experience. The first part was quick, and they got back to me fast about what was next. They told me exactly what to expect, like the kind of interview, when, and where. This helped me get ready. The first interview was with an HR person who knew their stuff and was nice. They asked different things about my background, experience, and what I can do. The interviewer listened and let me explain my answers, which made it feel relaxed and engaging. It seemed like they had read my resume carefully and asked questions based on it. Then, I had a second interview with the hiring manager and some team members. This was a chance to talk more about the job, the team, and how things work here. The panel asked good questions and we had a discussion, so I could show what I know and find out more about the company.
- Can you tell me your full name?
Social Media Community Manager
Recruiter Jeffrey M reached out via email to set up a pre-screen phone chat. We talked about my salary needs, and if I was cool with their range, I'd move forward. Then, they booked an on-site interview. I was supposed to ask for someone specific at the front desk, but the building's being renovated, so no front desk or person there. I ended up asking around to find the right floor and office, and then just waited by a locked door until someone let me in. I chilled on some couches for the interview, which was pretty chill, like a college dorm with casual folks, free ramen, and soda. They offered me water. The whole thing lasted maybe 30 minutes. They mentioned other candidates and said they'd update me by the end of the week, but never did. Weirdly, I had no clue if this was a Microsoft gig, a Jeffrey M job, or something else entirely. I was wandering around trying to find this office, couldn't use the directory, and got weird looks asking about it. At least they validated parking, saving me $8 for that short time.
- How would you apply your current role's responsibilities to a Twitter role?
Social Media Manager
The whole thing moved super fast. A recruiter from the company hit me up via email. She told me who the client was (McDonald's) and the salary range. She just wanted to confirm if I was cool with that before we kept going. First up was a phone interview. It felt like a real chat, you know, like a two way street. Basic questions mostly. She told me about the company and what the job is about, and asked me about my background and what I've done. Most of that stuff was right there on my resume. Nothing tricky. Then, round two was a social media test where I had to reply to some tweets for the brand. Round 3 was an on-site with two people from the company. They asked more about my experience and how I work with others, why I like social media and this specific job, and so on. They really wanted to see if I had the right experience, but also if I'd actually be happy working with them.
