It started with a nice chat with HR, and then there was a bit of a wait because some team folks were away. But once things got rolling again, the follow-up interviews were fast and gave me a good feel for things. I got a pretty quick offer that was good, though the time off isn't as great as other places in D.C., but the salary and remote work totally make up for it.

It was a really nice interview process. I first talked with someone from HR who told me more about what the job entails and asked me some basic questions to see if I'd be a good fit. Then, I had a second interview with someone who has worked internationally in development, and they were interested in hearing about my past work on energy access projects. I made it to the final interview stage, but it won't be with Jefferson Consulting.

I had an initial phone screen. They said they would get back to me and they are not in the habit of ghosting candidates. Over a week went by and I had not heard anything. I reached out via email asking for an update and they told me that they hadn’t received feedback yet but would get back to me and I never heard from them again. It’s frustrating to go out of your way to say that you don’t ghost candidates but then do exactly that. The communication was lacking and overall the process felt disrespectful. It did not give me a good impression of the company.

It wasn't the best experience, but it wasn't terrible either. The process took a long time and I'm not sure why the communication was so poor. Overall, the process could be improved to be quicker.
