The interview started with a phone screen that included both the recruiter and the hiring manager. After that, it moved to an onsite interview. The onsite part had several rounds focusing on Data Structures, Algorithms, Multithreading, Java, and Databases. There was also a coding test that needed to be completed right there. It was a pretty standard process.

Got referred by a VP, so a recruiter called me right away. She did a great job explaining the role and the product, really trying to sell it. The referral got me an onsite interview directly, but setting it up took over a week with multiple recruiters and some confusion. They scheduled 4 interviews: 2 with developers, 1 with a manager, and 1 with a director. The interviews started at 11 am with slots like 11-11:45, 11:45-12:30, then a break, followed by 1-1:45 and 1:45-2:30. The manager mentioned the break seemed unnecessary and offered to let me go get lunch. I stayed, and after 30 minutes of waiting, the manager returned. I solved a problem he gave me, then he gave me another and left for 5 minutes while I worked on it. I solved that one too, and after I explained it, he asked a few questions. He then informed me the 4th interview was cancelled because the person was busy. While I know interviewers can cancel final rounds if earlier ones go poorly, the initial interviews weren't *that* bad. It felt like they brought me in just for the referral without serious intent to hire. Two friends with referrals had similar experiences with interviews ending early that same week. The office seemed quite empty, possibly due to post-acquisition departures. Honestly, with that kind of employee experience, I wouldn't consider joining.

Had about 2 phone screens that included some coding and analysis. Went for an on-site interview and noticed a lot of empty cubes, which made it seem like many employees left after Cisco's acquisition of Jasper for over $1B. It's unclear when Cisco will change Jasper's leadership, and there's a lot of uncertainty about the future of this business unit. Project forecasts are only available for the next 3-4 months. Teams are small, and many ex-Yahoo employees are still around.
