First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Jason's Deli.
Cashier
I talked to a manager who asked me about my availability and previous work. They asked about 6 questions about how I'd act, what I'd do, or how I'd handle specific situations. I was told I'd get a call for a second interview if they picked me. The second interview was similar, but with a different manager, who asked fewer questions and focused on my work history and availability. They said they'd call if I got a third interview. I followed up a week later and didn't hear back. Both interviews were easy.
- What is your response when a customer with food allergies inquiries about the ingredients of a product?
Cashier
Jason's Deli was advertising walk-in interviews on Craigslist. Drove to the location and filled out an application. Was given an interview immediately with pretty common questions. Received a job offer on the spot, which I accepted. Resume wasn't required, but I suggest bringing one in so they can learn a little about you while you're filling out the application. TIP: Facial hair isn't allowed on the Job, so consider that before interviewing.
- Tell me about your strengths and weaknesses.
- What is your motivation for wanting to work here?
- Could you describe what excellent customer service entails?
Line Cook
I filled out an application and then met right away with the general manager. He was nice and made me feel comfortable. We talked about my experience, my thoughts on customer service and teamwork, my availability, and wages. It felt like a casual conversation where we could see if I'd be a good fit. Then, I talked to an assistant manager who seemed a bit uninterested and eager to leave. After that, the general manager told me I got the job and to come back the next day for orientation. It was the best interview I've ever had.
- What do you consider your greatest flaw and what do you dislike about yourself?
