First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Jared Jewelers.
Sales Associate
The people who work there and the store manager were kind and patient during my interview. I didn't hear back about a second round, which I think might be because I don't have a strong sales background.
- Tell me about your prior experience in sales.
Sales Associate
Applied online, there was a very in-depth online application process. Got a call for an interview a week later. During the interview, the manager was really rude and didn't even shake my hand. She asked questions while looking down at a script, not making eye contact, which felt really impersonal for a manager. After asking questions, she told me the position was completely different from what was advertised. The job didn't have set hours and required being on call during busy seasons. The advertisement had stated it was part-time or full-time.
- What would you do if you couldn't meet your sales goals despite your best efforts?
Sales Associate
First, you interview with the assistant manager, then the manager. You have to sit there in between them waiting on customers, so it takes forever. They want to see if you are a good fit, but they are not truthful about how long it takes you to wait on a customer other than a repair pickup. Plus, they do not tell you that you have to clean the store, take out trash, clean the bathroom, and mop floors.
- Do you know the 4 Cs of diamonds?
