Data Scientist
I started with a chat with the hiring manager about my past work. Then I had to give a presentation for an hour about a project I'd done, with five people on the call. After that, I went in for an onsite where I met two directors and three principal data scientists, plus the team I'd be joining. They said the onsite was for culture fit, but actually, I had a business case interview with one of the principal data scientists, which was a surprise. The other two principal data scientists threw in some different technical questions too. The whole thing took over two months, and a month after the onsite, they told me they hired someone else who ticked all the boxes... Bummer!
- Can you explain cross validation and parameter tuning?
Data Scientist
We had two interviews. The first was with the local managers, and the second was with the area manager. Each interview took an hour.
- How do data scientists explain and convince people using data results?
Data Scientist
I interviewed three times for the position, talking with my direct manager, then her manager, and finally her manager. I had to chase them for weeks to find out I didn't get the job, which was disappointing after investing over 3 hours in interviews.
- Are you currently pursuing a PhD?
- Could you describe your research experience?
