I missed the first call about the operations manager job, but got a voicemail. I called back, but the lady didn't leave her name. A guy I spoke to didn't know who called, so I left my callback info. The original caller rang me back and wanted to set up an in-person interview. I was excited and asked who I'd be meeting, but she had no clue, just said she'd see me on the confirmed day. When I got there, it turned out to be a group interview with 3 people. The interviewers mentioned they got a lot of applications and this was the best way to see everyone. It's tough to really shine when you can't have a one-on-one chat to explain your skills and experience. This was my first group interview ever. It was a bad experience; I felt more like a prop than someone being interviewed.

The process involved an introduction, a technical/HR screen, and then questions about why I should be hired, my short-term goals, willingness to relocate, salary expectations, work experience, recent languages learned, my motivator, strengths and weaknesses, percentages, and my knowledge of artificial intelligence, cloud technology, and core Java.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The hiring process took a few weeks. I thought the interview was challenging, yet only of a medium difficulty (at most). If you can sell yourself well and identify past successes you have experienced, you should do well. You initially have a phone interview. Then, you interview with the Regional Director. Next, you meet for a follow-up interview with the Regional Director and the VP of Sales (which is the most challenging part of the interview process). If you handle their questions with ease, and sell yourself well...you have a great chance of "closing the sale" on yourself. Once they have you almost on board, you will go out in the field with another sales representative and make cold calls and first meetings with prospects (to see if this is the right fit for you). Then, you have a more casual follow up with Regional Director to discuss the specifics (start date, salary, benefits & etc.)

  • Describe a situation where you encountered a customer service failure and how you managed to overcome it.

Behavioral Technical

This company has a very straightforward and professional recruitment process. The application is quick and easy, with no lengthy forms. If selected, you'll have a brief phone interview. If successful, you'll be informed about the location and time for a face-to-face interview, typically at a regional office. This interview is with a senior executive with practical sales and management experience, offering credible insights. They answer questions honestly, discussing both the pros and cons of matters. Following this, there's another phone interview with a colleague of the first interviewer. This second interview clarifies the position, its requirements, necessary skills, and expectations. The company also provides clear job descriptions, budgets, and financial expectations beforehand. I would have recognized the unique, positive nature of this interview process even if I hadn't been successful.
