The job required a bachelors degree and 3-5 years of experience, which I have. The initial phone interview screening process was very unprofessional. That was my first red flag. Upon arriving for my in-person interview I quickly realized this is not a company you grow with, it's a revolving door of talent and the company is very sexist. During my interview there were 4 people I would potentially be working with in the room, three sitting with computers working and the manager who was attentive and asking me questions. Multiple times the manager would ask if anyone else had additional questions and it was clear the others hadn't been listening as they would re-ask the same question I had already answered. It immediately felt like I wasn't worth their time. After the interview with the group I interviewed with what would be the manager over multiple departments.

The HR representative was very professional. Upon arrival, the receptionist was welcoming, offered me a drink, and made me feel at ease. She got me some water, informed the interviewers of my arrival, and engaged in some pleasant conversation. The interview itself was a comfortable discussion focused on the role and my past experience. While some questions were challenging, the interviewers allowed me ample time to formulate my responses before continuing. We concluded by getting to know each other better. I left the interview with a strong desire to work at Jane, despite not receiving an offer, and plan to reapply.

After applying online, I was contacted by email in a couple of days to schedule a phone interview. I had my phone interview with the recruiter, Taylor. He was really nice and knew a lot about the job and the company. The interview felt more like talking, which I liked, and it was clear he wanted to understand my background and experience. A few days later, I went for an in-person interview with Marcus. Marcus was also really nice and the interview focused on who I am as a person, my work style, etc. He didn't ask any of those typical interview questions like, "What are your greatest weaknesses?" and I felt really comfortable the whole time. In the end, I didn't get the job, but after interviewing with Jane, I can only say good things about them. Anyone would be lucky to work at Jane!

The recruiter was great and then I met the team. The interview process had two rounds. The first round was a lighter technical interview. The second round was a mess, it seemed like they didn't know what they wanted to ask and just asked random questions. The interviewer was confidently wrong and seemed more excited to show off than have a conversation. It was rude and unprofessional, but based on reviews, I think I dodged a bullet.
