We had an impress and assess session with about 10 candidates and one interviewer. We had to interview each other and present to the group. We also did a group exercise about food. We had to talk about what we were passionate about to see how we fitted into the FAMILY values.

I was welcomed by the HR manager who was really friendly and then taken to a room within the open-plan office space. I was given an introduction by the HR about the benefits of working there and then interviewed. It was much more casual than other interviews I've attended and everyone was really friendly and welcoming.

So the interview process was a bit of a marathon. It started with a formal interview, then I had to do a business plan presentation. After that, there was a final interview, which was done over Skype, and this was all before the original formal interview. They kept me updated on all the dates as we went along.

We had a large group interview, which was good for getting to know the team I could have ended up working with. The restaurant called later to say I couldn't be hired as I wasn't 17, so the interview felt like a waste of time.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • What is your biggest passion?
  • What makes you want to apply for this job?
  • Tell us a bit about yourself (we played a truth/lie game where you share two truths and a lie, and everyone guesses the lie)
