I had an interview set up and I attended it. The person interviewing me had to type out whatever I said into their system. They asked me typical questions like what good customer service means to you and what are your 3 best strengths and weaknesses.

Be totally straight up in the interview. Don't make your experience or skills sound better than they are. You might end up in an office where they think you're senior and won't have much help if you can't actually do the work.

I had to drive an hour into the city for the interview, even though there's an office closer to me. When I got there, it wasn't clear who would be interviewing me. The manager seemed to start the assessment, but left to get lunch with a coworker while I was taking a test. She told another employee to continue with the interview questions if she wasn't back by the time I finished the test. That employee seemed experienced with this process. By the time the manager returned, I had already finished the test, answered all the interview questions, and was trying to get set up for on-site training. She didn't come back to discuss anything further. They said I'd be paid in two weeks, but wouldn't tell me how much I'd be paid even after I asked, and didn't specify my hours or days. I was just told to show up the Monday after the New Year's holidays at my local office. They gave me two business cards with contact information, but both had the same generic phone number with no extensions, so I'll have to hope I can reach the right person by asking for transfers or emailing. Overall, the interviewer was polite and knowledgeable, but they clearly didn't manage their time well for proper interviews. There was a general lack of communication and information, which felt a bit unprofessional. I get it's an entry-level, temporary position they train you for, but even Walmart's interview process was better than Jackson Hewitt's. I'm hoping to get more job details next week.
