First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Jack Henry & Associates.
Technical Support Representative
I interviewed twice for the TSR position at Jack Henry & Associates. After applying online, the supervisor called me about a week later for a quick phone interview, which went well, so he set up a face-to-face. The first interview was informal, focused on getting to know me and my work habits, and included a salary discussion. It lasted about an hour, and I was told they'd let me know about the next steps. I sent a follow-up email and got invited to a second interview with the manager, supervisor, and a team member. They asked a lot about my work habits and technical expertise. It was entry-level, so the technical questions weren't super deep, but they did test my knowledge. I felt good about it and expected to hear back within a week. After about a week and a half, I got an automated email saying the position was filled. About a month later, the supervisor reached out about another open position and asked if I was still interested. I said yes, and we set up another interview for the following week. This time it was the department supervisor and two supervisors from other departments. The other two did most of the talking, asking general questions, and seemed pleased with my answers. They said I'd hear back in two weeks. About four days later, the department supervisor called and offered me the position. I accepted right away and could start immediately.
- Can you tell me about a time you handled conflict?
- What would you say is your biggest strength and your biggest weakness?
- Can you describe a challenging work situation or project and explain how you managed to get through it?
Technical Support Representative
I applied online and heard back from HR or the hiring manager within the first week for a phone interview. If they liked me, I was asked to set up a face-to-face interview. The first interview was great. They want actual examples from my past experiences, not hypothetical situations. I didn't get the job offer because my salary expectations were too high. They told me I was one of four finalists out of 50 applicants. The hiring manager recommended me to HR. Two weeks later, HR called about a different position, but I wasn't interested. Another two weeks later, a different Department Manager called about his TSR position. I applied and had an in-person interview. This interview was similar to the first, with the same questions, which felt odd. I felt positive about it, but it's been 3 months with no response after sending two emails. I've applied for other roles there with no response either. The first manager was great, but the second one wasn't, which made me feel there might be inconsistencies in management.
- Can you share an instance where you had a disagreement with a group and how you handled it?
Technical Support Representative
Had a quick phone chat with the hiring manager who talked about the job and teams. Then I went in person for an interview where they asked 'what did you do' questions. I met with two managers for the actual interview, and the hiring manager was great at explaining what to expect. The managers took turns asking questions, and it felt like a smooth conversation. Some questions tripped me up, but they let me pause and come back to them.
- Describe a situation where you failed to meet your objectives.
- What's a part of your job you're still working to get better at?
