The hiring manager reached out via email to set up a time to chat about the role. We first talked about her background, career path, and the position itself. Then we went over my experience, what I'm passionate about, and what I'm looking for in a job. After that, I had a follow-up GoToMeeting call with the product manager. It was a relaxed conversation, but the questions were challenging.

This was the best interviewing experience to date. My first interview was with the hiring manager via Teams. As he had my resume, he didn’t waste time asking me about my skill set. He spoke of the role and the company and his experience with the company. It was like talking to a friend. The second interview was with a panel via Teams as well; I spoke with 8 individuals over a 2 hour period. This was also great because you are able to get a feel for the team and if your personality will mesh with them which is what they are looking for. I found this to be great as nothing is worse than getting a job but the people you work with are clicked up or stand offish. I left with a great impression of JHA and how they treat their employees.

I got a call from HR who asked about my availability for a phone interview. They asked some general HR questions, but nothing too deep. Then, I had a phone interview set up with a mid-level manager and her boss. They were both very nice. Mostly, they asked about my past experience and projects I'd worked on. Nothing too wild. They said they'd contact me in a week with more info. It actually took about two weeks for them to let me know I didn't get the job, along with feedback from the hiring managers. I guess they were likely waiting for their preferred candidate to accept the offer before telling others. I was treated well overall, even though I didn't get an offer.
