The process was pretty brief and relaxed, not as intimidating as one might think. The atmosphere is quite laid-back for aspiring art directors. Most of the emphasis is placed on your portfolio and selling your drive and work ethic.
- Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?
Art Director
I had a phone chat with a creative recruiter for this role, and it was really laid back. I got the offer right away! They're really good at picking talent based on portfolios. This internship is a great idea for anyone into advertising. Working at a WPP company let me see what agency life is like.
- What are your long-term goals?
Art Director
It was casual, I came in, and the staff were very friendly. We discussed potential roles within the company. They looked through my portfolio and we talked about the work, then they shared some of their recently finished projects and described what junior staff there usually do.
