Account Manager
I was called in for a chat with an Account Director at one of the offices in Asia. We spoke about my previous experience and we had a pleasant introductory chat, which soon became slightly awkward. She mentioned that the account she was directing was separate from JWT, and therefore, I would feel like I'm working in a different company. She then followed by asking me how I would feel to work very often until midnight and sometimes even 3-4 am. When I expressed my sincere discomfort with that idea, she replied by telling me how she also didn't like her life to be like that but the job requires what it requires, and went on ranting for a while.
- Can you describe your day-to-day responsibilities in your current role?
Account Supervisor
The hiring process was pretty long, involving more than five interviews and a good amount of back-and-forth. It's definitely set up for someone who's currently employed and looking for a change, but it can feel pretty intense if you're unemployed and need a job fast. Apparently, having an internal contact really helps get your resume noticed; just sending it in blind might not get a response.
- Did you find any of the questions surprising or difficult?
- My experience was with standard interview questions.
- One interview involved a challenging tactic where they silently waited for me to sell myself.
Am
After applying, they'll find suitable positions and brands for you, then you'll select a location, and the interview will happen. Once that's done, reference checks are conducted. Then an offer letter is shared, and once you accept, we'll zero in on the joining date.
- What makes you want this specific role?
