I had to do an 8-hour written test first, which had 4 questions about policy brief and RCT methods. After that, I was invited to a panel interview that lasted about 30-45 minutes. They asked me to prepare the presentation I submitted from the written test, but it wasn't used in the interview. I felt good about how I did, but they rejected me because they found someone better.

Technical Behavioral

The interview process has 3 rounds. First, there's a 4-hour application test with written and technical assignments related to RCTs and written communication. Then, there are 2 interviews: a fit round (covering questions like 'Why J-PAL?' and 'Why the training team?') and a technical round (focusing on RCTs, weaknesses, explaining them simply, and convincing someone to use an RCT).

It was really technical, you gotta know your stats. Started with the basics, then we talked about a case study I did, then some fit questions, and finally, they asked about my experience with the government.
