First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at J-MO Marketing.
Sales Associate
It was a three step process with the hiring manager. He seemed like a genuine guy who cared about the people on his team, and they respected him back. The second interview was on the field and I was excited about it – it's challenging in the best ways, you really gain resiliency and a tough mental attitude which helps in all other areas of life. I accepted the job after the third interview.
- What does leadership mean to you?
Manager
The hiring manager, who also happened to be the company owner, was the main reason I declined the job offer. He was abrasive, rude, inconsiderate, and showed no interest in getting to know his potential employees. He seemed to value money over respect for professionals. His administrative assistant was more professional.
- You will be required to work on weekends; will this pose an issue for you?
Marketing
This was likely the fastest interview I've ever been through. I was in the room for under 30 minutes and was only asked generic interview questions. The interviewer hadn't even looked at my resume before I came in and even asked what job I had applied for (apparently, all the job titles lead to the same job). The interviewer talked about himself and his trips to Jamaica.
- Can you describe what it means to be a leader?
Sales Representative
It's a 3-step process. First, you'll come in and answer some questions. Second, you'll head to the actual store to see what they do and how they sell. Third, you'll get hired (just for a week, remember).
- Tell me about your strengths and weaknesses.
- Would you describe yourself as a competitive person?
- Are you capable of self-management?
