I was called for an initial phone screen, which was pretty standard scheduling-wise. The questions felt pretty generic, and I wasn't sure if they were actually interested in my background or skills. It made me think they might have already had someone in mind, maybe an internal candidate, or perhaps the recruiter wasn't super experienced.

First, there was a 15-minute recruiter phone call where they talked about the job and asked about my qualifications. Then, I had a Teams interview with the area risk manager and operations manager. They originally scheduled an hour but cut it down to about 20 minutes and said to dress business professional. They gave me some company websites and a video to watch beforehand, but the interview was awkward because neither of them turned their cameras on and they seemed to not have reviewed my resume. They asked about a retail job I had in 2010 and some basic questions I already covered with the recruiter. They explained the Pittston, PA position, but it's actually not in Pittston, and training is 3-6 months for $58k, with an unspecified pay bump later. The actual roles are an hour away in Mountain Top and Hazleton, which they didn't ask if I was okay with, likely because they're unfamiliar with the area. I was asked if I'm okay with relocating for a future promotion, with no details on location or timeline, though I suspect it might be after the trainee period, based on other reviews mentioning cross-country moves. They also mentioned filling 'multiple holes,' which sounds like doing multiple people's jobs. Finally, I was asked about taking a 90-day hair follicle test for an office position, which seemed odd. The call ended after about 20 minutes. They said they'd put their emails in the chat, but they didn't. I was sent a rejection email within 24 hours.

This was a long and challenging interview process that took over five weeks to get a final answer, but it's a good company. They asked some tough questions, but the recruiters were helpful in prepping me.
