Sales
It was a 3 part process. First, a phone call. Then, an in-person interview at the home office with multiple stakeholders, and also a field visit. It was a comprehensive process overall. I also had to take an online personality test that included verbal, analytical, and math sections.
- What motivates your interest in this position?
Senior Purchasing Agent
The first interview is a phone call where they ask general questions about your experience and qualifications. The second interview is in person, lasts about an hour, and they'll dive deeper into your qualifications.
- What's your experience working collaboratively within a team?
- Can you share some of your negotiation experiences?
- Describe a time you saved your previous employer money on product costs.
Product Development Engineer
After I submitted my resume, I had a phone interview with the HR/Operations Director first. Then, for the in-person interview, I met with the same director and the Product Development Engineering Manager. They usually like for the candidate to spend some time with the current intern so the intern can teach you firsthand and update you on the project(s) you'll be working on, ensuring a smooth adjustment period.
- Can you tell me about a school project mentioned on your resume?
Manufacturing Engineer
This company was very secretive about their machines, and they wouldn't let me see many of the ones I'd be responsible for. They were in the middle of relocating and only showed me the oldest equipment in the new building, which wasn't in production use. All the machines were custom-made, one-of-a-kind units. Despite this, I decided to take a chance and accepted the role without seeing the rest of the equipment. It turned out to be a big mistake, but the experience taught me a lot. The rest of the interview was pretty standard, but they held back a lot of important information until after I started working there, which I always resented during my over three years with the company.
- Tell me about a difficult machine problem you faced previously and how you resolved it.
