First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at IUPUI.
Student Worker
It was a simple process. They interviewed me about my major, workload, ability to handle responsibilities, student life, interests, and availability. The interview was straightforward and didn't have any gotchas. There were some technical questions related to the work I'd do but nothing out of the ordinary.
- What would you do in a situation that made you feel uncomfortable?
Test Proctor
The whole interview experience was great! It was super quick and organized, everything just flowed really well. The interviewers were really nice and made me feel super comfortable during the online chat, which was awesome. They asked some good questions that let me show off what I know and can do, so I felt pretty good about it. It was actually a pretty fun time!
- Have you held a job before?
Help Desk Technician
They were really flexible with my schedule for the interviews. They asked some questions about how I solve problems and also about my future goals. They also talked about what to expect in the role and explained the job details well.
- What made you want to apply for this job?
- Can you tell me about your approach to solving technical issues?
- Where do you see yourself in your career path?
Marketing Director
There was a large group interview via Zoom. Most interviewers seemed to have journalism backgrounds. They asked standard get-to-know-you questions, which I guess were behavioral. Questions like "Tell me about a time..." were asked. It was okay, but I didn't get the feeling they were that serious about filling the role, maybe more confirming their existing views. That might be my misreading, but that's how it felt. Questions were passed around by different people. Some were more comfortable or engaged than others. Maybe they had other things going on another screen. I don't recall all the details as it wasn't that long ago but I remember the gist.
- Can you share an experience where you spearheaded a Diversity Initiative?
