First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ITV.
Journalist
It was pretty tough. There were two interviewers. They came across as a bit condescending. They didn't seem to care much about my portfolio or previous work, and more about whether I could give answers they liked. It wasn't a great experience and felt rushed, like they just wanted to get it over with. I would have preferred to discuss the actual work I've done!
- In a scenario where the roof collapses during a conference you're covering, what would be your course of action?
Journalist
It was a recruiter call, they asked typical questions about my journalism experience and why I want to work for the company. Also asked about diversity goals and what I would bring to the company.
- How can diversity be improved?
Journalist
First, you'll have a test to complete that includes a live presentation. You need to read an article and make notes on what you'd put in a 'live' segment. You should also talk about any images or graphics you'd use. This part takes 30 minutes. The interview questions are more idea-focused, so be ready with plenty of story ideas!
- Can you share a story that deeply affected you?
