So, first thing was this assessment I had to do. After that, I went to this webinar which was like a quick company presentation. Then came a technical test, it was pretty average, covering OOP basics, some multi-threading, and design patterns. It had about 10 questions, a mix of code and explanations, and I had 40-45 minutes to finish it. After that, I got invited for an interview where we talked about my past projects and I had to solve a problem, which took about 40-45 minutes for the technical discussion and problem-solving. The HR interview was more like a casual chat, the people were really nice.

The interview went very smoothly, the HR recruiter was nice to answer all of my questions and she's very open to discuss the benefits and perks their company can offer even if it was pre-assessment only. The hiring process is as follows: * Phone call for pre-assessment * Technical exam which will assess your knowledge in software testing concepts, FIX protocol, Test Automation, and Java programming (all of these are time-restricted within 75 minutes) * HR interview * Technical interview * Panel interview/JO I passed their technical exam and was about to undergo a technical interview, I had almost finished the hiring process but a different opportunity came in and was quick to give an offer, so I just accepted it.

So I had an online test first, after clearing that HR confirmed and we discussed my salary expectations which they agreed to. Then I had a telephonic round, cleared that too. HR called again about the next round, which would be in their Mumbai office. I told them coming on weekdays was difficult as I work in Pune. For about 40 days, there was no communication. Then they called saying they had a weekend drive and asked if I could attend the final round in person. I said I'd confirm by Friday as I had other plans, but then decided to go. Confirmed Friday, travelled to Mumbai on Saturday for the interview at 2:30 pm. I reached early, 12:30 pm, but HR said the panel wasn't there and would arrive at 2:30 pm, and they'd try to finish quickly. I went for lunch, and then got a call from someone who was copied on the email, saying my chances were slim because my salary expectations were too high. He asked if I still wanted to proceed. It's unprofessional to only discuss this after I've travelled to their office, especially after a long conversation. They should have clarified this during screening. I'm disappointed I wasted a day.

The interview process was pretty extensive and kind of draining. I had 6 interviews plus a technical test where they asked about FIX protocol, Java, Linux, troubleshooting, coding, and pretty much everything. They really want to make sure you're a good technical fit, have the right soft skills, and that your career goals align. The recruiting team is super nice and helpful if they think you're a good match for the company.
