Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Iterative Health.
Software Engineer
It felt like they weren't really serious about hiring, more like a practice run. The whole thing spanned 2-3 weeks with about 4 or 5 interviews. One of the interviews had a technical question that needed an external dependency, which added extra time. The architecture interview was more about them showing their current system and asking for ideas on how to improve it, and then I had to describe a system design myself.
- Can you find a dynamic path for the maze?
Software Engineer
It started with an initial coding screen with an engineer. Then there were 4 rounds of interviews over 2 days: 2 coding interviews, 1 design interview, and 1 Product Manager Interview. The PM was strongly biased against engineers from Big Tech companies. I think it's a waste of time to put engineers with a certain kind of experience through a loop if you don't want that experience.
- What are your thoughts on standard coding interviews?
- During the design interview, was it mostly discussion without diagramming?
- Can you tell me how much of your team was laid off?
Software Engineer
The interview started with a phone screen, then moved to a virtual onsite. It was a bit disorganized with invite issues, like not knowing who was interviewing or their roles. There were a couple of technical and system design interviews, plus two others that I'd call behavioral.
- Can you share some of your best practices?
