Account Executive
The recruiter team was super responsive and professional, knowing a lot about the job and what the hiring managers wanted. They gave good advice for the next step. But, the next interview with the hiring manager was a really bad experience. While I was answering the first couple questions, the hiring manager kept yawning, which seemed like they weren't engaged. Later, when we talked about my last job, they commented that it must have been 'easy' because the company had big brand recognition. Near the end, when I asked about any concerns, they brought up needing experience with complex sales cycles and many stakeholders, which they hadn't asked about or discussed. I think I have the skills they need from past roles, but they didn't ask questions to find out. Also, their questions assumed I could just jump in without guidance, like assuming I couldn't adapt my prospecting strategy because it was different from theirs, which isn't realistic for any salesperson.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Describe your prospecting approach in your prior position.
- How were your sales quotas organized?

The interview experience was fantastic, super organized, and everyone was really good at communicating. All the people I interacted with were professional, genuine, and had great energy throughout. It took about a month to complete. After an initial screening call, there were multiple rounds with the hiring manager and other team members. This gave me a clear picture of what the job involves and what the company culture is like. Overall, it was a great experience, from the recruiters who were open and detailed, to the hiring manager and team who were just awesome to talk to. I honestly can't imagine a smoother interview process!
- Can you tell me why you are interested in Iterable?
- Could you describe your typical sales process?
- Share a time when a situation didn't go as planned.
Account Executive
I had an interview with a recruiter, but then the role got filled. They posted again and I reapplied, then interviewed with the hiring manager. We had a good chat about why I was interested in Iterable and MarTech. The recruiter helped me prep. Then I spoke with the VP of Sales for 30 mins. They asked more about my sales experience and let me ask questions. They also asked why Iterable and what I liked about my last company. Even though they had 3 roles open and I felt I did well, I didn't get an offer. The recruiter sent a generic follow-up, which wasn't helpful for understanding why I wasn't selected.
