First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Isobar.
Talent Acquisition Specialist
The interview process was straightforward and engaging. The interviewer had researched my profile beforehand and asked relevant questions about my experience. They provided feedback throughout the interview and were clear about the skills they valued and those I should develop.
- Can you describe your previous administrative experience?
Community Manager
After a quick phone screen, I met with six people over two separate occasions. The first meeting included the client and two team members, and it seemed to go pretty well. The second interview was with the Isobar strategy team. My chat with the Director was fantastic, but the follow-up with my direct manager was not. She was super unprofessional, cutting me off mid-answer multiple times and downplaying my previous experience. I was kind of shocked because everyone else had been so nice and professional. I really regret not checking Glassdoor beforehand; it would have prepared me for an interview that felt more like an argument.
- Can you tell me about a brand in this industry that you believe is doing interesting things on social media?
Business Analyst
So I had this F2F interview scheduled, and honestly, it felt like a total waste of time. The interviewer was from presales and asked all sorts of questions that didn't seem relevant. It felt like they had already decided not to hire me, and they spent about 30 minutes with me. I want to warn others who might be looking at companies like this – don't waste your time if you get the feeling you won't be hired from the start. It was a really bad experience, just wanted to share. They seem more interested in wasting people's time than hiring. I mean, the interviewer didn't seem to know what to ask or how to interview a Business Analyst with over 5 years of experience. Job seekers should probably avoid this company.
- In terms of gathering requirements, what would be your approach?
- How would you go about selling a product?
- What's your process for preparing reports?
Recruiting Coordinator
I applied and a few days later had a phone interview with a recruiter from Chicago. Then, a few days after that, I interviewed at the NYC office. The interview itself went really well, but the hiring manager felt cold and unwelcoming. What really bothered me was that she never got back to me after my thank you note, nor did she tell me directly that I didn't get the job. Instead, communication went through the recruiter. After spending over an hour in the office, I felt that direct feedback was the least that could be done. Apart from that one hiring manager, everyone else in the office seemed great.
