First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ISEE.
Office Manager
ISEE has a few stages for interviews. First, I had a discovery phone call, then a more structured second phone interview. After passing the phone interviews, I went in person to talk with various team members.
- What are your methods for dealing with confidential information?
- Can you describe your preferred way of working?
Product Manager
First there was a phone screen with the recruiter. Then, I had a video interview with the Head of Product. Next, I gave a 30-minute presentation to a panel of interviewers about my background. After that, I interviewed with an Engineer, then a Product Manager, then someone from Business Development, and finally, I had interviews with both co-founders. The second co-founder interview had to be rescheduled three times, and they didn't communicate about the cancellations or delays. When the interview finally happened, their video wasn't on, which was unprofessional.
- Tell me about your past experiences working cross-functionally with engineering.
- What motivates you to want to work for ISEE?
Software Engineer
I applied for a robotics infrastructure role that needed C++/C and Python experience. Later, I got an email for a video interview, which I scheduled. During the video interview, the interviewer started asking frontend questions, and it turned out the role was actually for a frontend developer, not the robotics role I applied for. I had to ask what the position was near the end because they hadn't described it, and I was surprised. I mentioned I applied for a robotics role and this wasn't it. The interviewer was understanding and explained that the recruiting team often considers candidates for roles they didn't apply for based on their resumes, even if it's not a strong match. While I don't mind being considered for other roles, I do have an issue with the recruiting team not mentioning it was a frontend role in advance. I only found out when I asked the interviewer. The interviewer said they'd talk to the recruiting team about possibly considering me for the role I actually wanted. Two business days later, I received an email stating I wouldn't be moving forward. Such a waste of time.
- Can you share your experience with React?
Business Operations Manager
The interview process was very well presented via Zoom. All three interviewers were articulate and well versed in their professions. You get a great sense a connection during the engagement. However, After the honeymoon phase; you’re left high and dry without any closure. Internally, you go from being on cloud nine to having a feeling of being discarded like trash or gun under the shoe. No rejection letter, No offer letter, No explanation, and no response after several attempts. Shame seemed like a great company. But communication isn’t their forte
- Can you describe your management style?
