Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at IREX (International Research & Exchanges Board).
Program Coordinator
Got referred by someone in the industry. The interview process was fast and simple. It was handled by business development people, not the HR department which is known for being slow.
- What is your preferred management style?
Program Coordinator
About a week after I applied, HR reached out. We set up an initial screening interview where I got asked basic questions. Soon after, I was contacted about setting up interviews with the team I would be working with. Even though I had generally positive experiences, I'm leaving a negative review because I was ghosted. A couple of weeks after my second interview, I followed up with HR, and never heard back. A simple rejection email would have been fine.
- Can you tell me about your experience and background?
Proposal Coordinator
I had 3 interviews: first was a screening with HR, then I had a video call with the Senior Officer, Project Coordinator and Project Associate, and finally, a call with the Director and Senior Officer.
- Can you share an instance where you successfully coordinated a proposal from start to finish?
- Describe a specific situation where you encountered difficulties during a proposal process and explain how you resolved them.
- Could you recount an experience where you had to work with various team members or departments to develop a proposal?
