Machine Learning Engineer
Applied 10 days ago and got an invite to do a coding challenge on HackerRank. Heard back pretty fast after finishing it. The challenge itself was pretty easy, especially if you've gone through Google's machine learning crash course.
- Can you explain L1 and L2 regularization?
- What's the difference between precision and recall?
- Tell me about feature scaling.
Machine Learning Engineer
The first round was a coding round focusing on regularization, performance measures, and easy coding problems. The second round was a bit of a curveball; the interviewer asked about my interest in creating ML models versus testing/deploying them. After I expressed interest in model creation, they suggested I might be better suited for a Data Science role. I clarified that I'm also interested in testing/deploying, and they then gave me a coding challenge involving defining functions for Mean, Median, and Mode.
- Write code to compute the Mean, Median, and Mode for a list of numbers in Python.
Machine Learning Engineer
I applied online and then I got a hacker rank coding challenge. After I finished the challenge, I got an email saying I was rejected because my skillset wasn't an exact match. I think this happened because I didn't get 100% correct on the challenge; I remember I couldn't pass all the test cases on the last question.
- General machine learning questions were asked.
- Questions included LeetCode coding puzzles.
