I sent in my application and resume, then did a worksheet with some practice scenarios. After that, I gave them 3 references. They then did a Skype call with me and I waited to hear back. The whole thing took about a month. I was really surprised I didn't get an offer because I have a lot of customer service experience and this was a remote job, so I'd just be working from home. This was actually the fifth time I'd applied, and after the fourth time, someone from Ipsy headquarters told me to watch out for remote job openings. Honestly, I feel like they wasted my time and got my hopes up, and I don't have much respect for how they handled things with applicants.

I applied online after seeing an ad on LinkedIn. About a week later, I got an email to set up a 30-minute Zoom meeting with their Recruiter to chat about the job and my background. After that, I had another Zoom interview with the person currently in the role. This felt a bit weird since they're leaving soon and already gave their notice, so they'd naturally favor their own ideas and who they think should take over. But the main hiring person was out of the country, so I had to interview with the current person who had bad video and sound because of tech issues, and we ended up talking off-camera a lot since her screen kept freezing. I suspect there's an internal candidate they're pushing for, and this person the current person will help promote. They're interviewing outsiders just to go through the motions. It felt like a waste of time.

The interview process was great and I enjoyed getting to know the team through the multiple rounds. I got feedback from recruiting as I moved through the process. There was a written exercise which was a great opportunity for me to showcase some of my skills that might not have been as apparent in a standard interview.
