First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ippolita.
Store Director
A recruiter reached out to me. I had an interview with the VP of merchandise and store planning that went well. Three weeks later, I interviewed with the CFO. I thought both interviews went very well. We talked about my experience in luxury retail and owning my own business, which seemed to be what they were looking for. I never heard back after that, which was unprofessional and makes me think the company is disorganized and disrespectful.
- The CFO was concerned about my transition from a large retailer to a smaller company and my ability to adjust.
Business Manager
First, there was a general phone chat with HR. Then, the field team manager gave me a call and set me up to meet the local rep in person. After that, I had one specific date and time to meet with the field manager while he was in town, which felt more like a casual chat. I was pretty confident it went great and heard I was one of three finalists. They said I'd get a call back the next week, but I never did. I contacted HR, and two days later, she let me know I wasn't moving forward. Honestly, a phone call would've been better.
- What makes this market stand out to you?
- Can you describe your responsibilities in your previous or current position?
- What strategies would you employ to expand the business?
Designer
I applied online and then had an in-person interview. I met with HR first, who was really nice and professional. After that, I met with the design team. I also had to do a design test that I emailed back a few days later. About two weeks after that, they told me they went with someone else.
- What makes you want to work for this company
Retail Manager
It was a pleasant 50-minute conversation with the company's VP. The interview took place in Milan and was conducted in English. They needed to confirm with the brand manager in Italy for a second interview in Italian.
- Could you briefly tell me about yourself?
- Can you elaborate on your previous experience as a Retail Manager?
