First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at IPConfigure.
Software Engineer
We had an initial chat with a senior engineer and the CTO where we talked about college background and what makes me a strong engineer. They also asked if I was more interested in front end (Javascript) or backend (C++) on their team. After that, I got a take-home assignment to test my technical skills, which took a good chunk of time. They only take one intern each year for either team.
- Can you explain the difference between asynchronous and synchronous code and whether asynchronous code utilizes multiple threads?
Javascript Developer
I had an initial interview with some team members, they seemed nice and responded quickly. Then there was a take-home coding challenge, which wasn't too hard, but I didn't hear back after submitting.
- Could you give me a tour of your resume?
Software Engineer
So first I had an interview where I talked with some of the engineering leadership, and we chatted about my experience and also their company/product. Then, there was a take-home software skills test, in a language I know (C++, Java, or Javascript). Lastly, we had a follow-up call to talk more and wrap things up.
- Can you tell me about your background?
- Let's discuss some details about programming languages.
- Could you also discuss some aspects of digital video?
Software Engineer
It was a 3-round interview process. The first round was a chat about my technical strengths, and then I was given a take-home assignment. The final round involved technical questions about the assignment and my solutions.
- Have you worked with networking before?
- Do you have multithreading experience?
